Orange Cinnamon Cranberry Sauce
This is a great twist to the traditional cranberry sauce that is a bit sweeter but still has a hint of the cranberries’ tartness. I also love that like tradition cranberry sauce it takes no time at all.
REMEMBER: CRANBERRY SAUCE MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE SO IT CAN CHILL
Rinse and pick through 12 ounces (1 bag) of cranberries
Bring the following to a boil on medium heat
1 cup of granulated sugar
½ cup of water
½ cup of orange juice
Once the mixture starts to boil stir in the following:
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
2 pinches of salt
1 pinch of cloves
Add cranberries
Let cook for 10-12 minutes. The cranberries will burst open.
Leave in pot untouched for 30 minutes to an hour before transferring to a storage container
Chill for a minimum of 12 hours
